Hello,

I am a writer, editor, and pop culture enthusiast.

My debut novel APPETITE is forthcoming from The Dial Press.

I was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I am currently based in New Haven, CT where I am a professor of English and Creative Writing at Southern Connecticut State University and Fairfield University. I also teach at Westport Writers Workshop and host Manuscript Meetup, a bi-weekly conversation and lecture series with writers, editors, and agents geared towards making the publishing industry more accessible for New Haven writers. I received my BA from Wellesley College and my MFA in Creative Writing (Nonfiction) from Columbia University.

My work has been published in Teen Vogue, Dogwood Literary Journal, Southampton Review, and more. I co-founded Dream Glow Magazine, a literary journal inspired by the work of BTS. I was also the founder of We Have Food at Home, a weekly digital literary magazine about food. I try to update Doughnt Stop Me Now, my food photography and cooking instagram as much as I can. These days, I’m trying to post reflections and updates on Substack.

I am available for book talks, book coaching, writing consultation, creative writing mentorship, events, guest lectures, and more. Reach out at paramitapadya@gmail.com.
