I’m available for writing & editing help!
As someone who had to figure out my way around the publishing industry, I offer guidance to writers hoping to get their manuscripts out there by offering one-on-one meetings to talk about your journey, read writing and offer feedback (this part for a small fee). For one-on-one consultations, feel free to email me at paramitapadya@gmail.com. I offer the following:
Manuscript consultations and editing
Query letter advice & editing
MFA application advice & support
Edits on short for pieces
I’m also available for guest lectures and teaching. I have taught at the University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut State University. I also have experience speaking at Clark University, Dominican University Chicago & Avenues the World School. Full CV available upon request.
High School Student Mentorship
If you or your child is in high school, I also offer one-on-one mentorships and classes (or group classes for a group of friends) on creative writing, including fiction and non-fiction. I can work with them on a project such as a short story or poetry collection, or even guide them through the process of writing and publishing a book!
MANUSCRIPT MEETUP
I am the founder of Manuscript Meetup, a series of sessions and conversations geared towards helping the literary community in New Haven hear from professionals in the writing and publishing industry and gain guidance and insights to take their manuscripts to the next level. It's centered around practical advice towards publishing. It's hosted at Possible Futures bookstore and I'm the main organizer and facilitator. Each session has a theme and we've had writers and editors and agents come and speak to our attendees. Guests have included authors Anelise Chen, Rachel Meredith, Bessie Flores Zaldívar, agent Ashley Lopez, editors Caitlin McKenna and Oma Beharie, and poet Nikola Champlin. I’ve also hosted a query letter writing event for our writers.
